Your team can see a doctor in about an hour - not next month.
Round-the-clock care by phone, video, or text that handles most everyday health issues - so your people stop burning sick days in waiting rooms and small things stop turning into big ones.
Virtual care provides remote access to clinicians for concerns that can be assessed remotely. Service hours, wait times and eligible care depend on the plan. Some concerns require in-person assessment or emergency care.

Virtual care gives employees remote access to clinicians for suitable health concerns. RiskX helps coordinate access and employee communication. Confirm the services, hours, eligibility and any charges in your selected plan. Virtual care does not replace emergency services or every in-person appointment.
RiskX is a Canadian independent employee-benefits and group-retirement brokerage, founded in 1994, serving group retirement employers across Canada outside Quebec, with health and dental licensing in Alberta and Ontario.

Getting in to see a doctor has quietly become the hard part.
01 · The doctor you can't get
5.9 million Canadians don't have a regular family doctor.
Half the country now finds it hard or impossible to get an appointment at all. Access has been sliding for a decade.
02 · Sick days spent in waiting rooms
A ten-minute problem eats half a workday.
When the only option is a walk-in or the ER, people take time off for something that never needed an in-person visit.
03 · Small things become big things
Care that's hard to reach gets put off.
A refill, a rash, or a nagging symptom turns into an ER trip, a bigger diagnosis, or time on disability.
When care is hard to reach, your business absorbs the cost.
Half of Canadians now report difficulty getting a family-doctor appointment - up from 40% a decade ago to 50% today - and only 15% can be seen within a day or two. For employers, that gap shows up as lost time: employees burn sick days and personal hours sitting in walk-in clinics, and minor issues get ignored until they become absences, ER visits, or claims. Easy, same-day access flips the math - people deal with a health concern on a lunch break instead of taking the day off, and problems get caught early, when they're cheap to fix.

What clients tell us changes first.
Across the employers we work with, the same shift comes up: the "I can't get an appointment" complaints quiet down. People stop losing half a day to a walk-in clinic, reach a nurse or doctor the same day, and get back to work - and the access problem that used to feel permanent stops being a running issue.
Virtual care questions Canadian employers ask us.
How fast can an employee actually see a doctor?
Wait times and access channels depend on the service and selected plan. Confirm current availability with the provider. For an emergency, use emergency services rather than waiting for a program appointment.
What can virtual care actually treat?
An estimated 70–80% of everyday medical issues can be handled virtually - colds, flu, infections, rashes, urinary tract infections, sexual health, prescriptions and refills, and referrals for lab work or specialists. When an in-person exam is required, the care team helps the employee find local care.
Can employees get prescriptions and referrals?
Yes. The medical team can issue and renew prescriptions sent to the employee's pharmacy, and provide referrals and requisitions for lab tests or specialists.
Does it work across provinces?
Yes - care is delivered by a licensed team across Canada. Coverage details vary by province; book a meeting and we'll confirm exactly how it works for where your team is.
Is it confidential?
Clinical discussions are private. Ask the provider about consent, confidentiality limits and aggregate reporting; formal referrals can involve different records.
Does this replace a family doctor?
No - it complements one. Virtual care handles fast, non-urgent issues and is often the only timely option for the millions of Canadians without a regular family doctor, but it doesn't replace ongoing, in-person primary care for complex needs.
