Group retirement support for London employers

RiskX works with London employers remotely on group retirement plans. Beyond setup, we help with employee communication and education, coordinate with the appropriate provider team, and review the retirement benefit periodically. Start with the plan you have or the one you want to create.

Begin with your situation

What does your team need to understand?

There is a useful path whether you already sponsor a plan or are considering your first one.

02 · First plan

Setting up a first plan?

Start with the employer's purpose, contribution budget, eligibility and the payroll work that will make the plan run. Then ask how employees will learn about the benefit and where they will find account support. The right design and setup steps depend on the employer and the provider arrangement; a single timeline or match percentage does not fit every plan.

Clear responsibilities

People and teams behind the plan

A retirement plan has different jobs behind it. Knowing who owns each one makes the benefit easier to run and easier for employees to use.

Your employer team

Your team sets the plan's objectives, makes the employer's decisions, manages its payroll responsibilities and retains oversight of the plan.

RiskX

RiskX helps employers understand their options and coordinate appropriate next steps. Our continuing work includes employee communication and education and periodic review of the retirement benefit. The precise support for an existing plan depends on its arrangement.

The registered investment provider

The provider administers accounts and supplies the account and employee support available under the plan. Individual investment advice belongs to the appropriately authorized provider team, where that service is available. RiskX can help direct questions to the appropriate party; each party remains responsible for its own work.

A useful review

Questions worth bringing to a review

These questions help define the discussion. They do not presume that a provider change is needed.

  • Can employees understand the benefit and find out what they pay?
  • Who answers payroll, account and investment questions?
  • What is working for the employer and its people?
  • Which questions need the provider's answer before the employer decides anything?

Ontario considerations

Ontario payroll questions have their own guides

Employer contributions can raise different income-tax, payroll and Ontario Employer Health Tax questions. The answer depends on the contribution, the plan and the employer's circumstances. Bring the proposed arrangement to the appropriate payroll or accounting professional.

This page does not make a CPP, EI, workers' compensation, T4 or DPSP reporting determination. Use the relevant specialist guidance and confirm the treatment of your own plan with qualified advisers.

Common questions

London group retirement questions

Does RiskX have a representative in London?

RiskX serves London employers remotely. We do not have a representative based in London. RiskX and the appropriate provider team contribute to the relationship according to the plan and the work agreed with the employer.

Can you help if we already have a plan?

We can start by discussing what is working, what your team wants to understand and what support is available under the current arrangement. Whether RiskX can perform particular work with that provider depends on the arrangement. A review does not require a provider change.

Who helps employees after setup?

RiskX helps employers with employee communication and education. The provider supplies the account and employee support available under the plan, including any eligible investment-advice service. Your employer team also retains its own plan and payroll responsibilities. The right contact for a specific question depends on the arrangement.

How long does setup take, and what does it cost?

Timing depends on plan design, provider steps, employer decisions, payroll preparation and employee communication. The employer contribution is one part of the budget; other charges and responsibilities depend on the arrangement. Use the illustrative employer-cost example to frame your questions, then confirm the actual proposal and timeline.

What should we do about Ontario payroll treatment?

Start with the type of contribution and the employer's payroll circumstances. Read the Ontario EHT guide for that specific provincial question. Income-tax, CPP, EI, reporting and workers' compensation assessment are separate questions for the appropriate specialist and qualified adviser.

A clearer next step for your plan

Bring the plan you have, or the questions behind the plan you want to start. We can discuss what your team needs to understand, who should answer each question and what a suitable next step looks like.
